Man-in-the-Middle Attack to the HTTPS Protocol

Discusses security and privacy related issues involving HTTPS protocol. Transport Layer Security (TLS) uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to ensure security, but it is not without problems. Man-in-the-middle attacks (MITM) occur when a certificate (used to verify authentication) has been been modified by a third party. These modified certificates, if not checked, can make information vulnerable. Encourages Internet users to be cautious with self-signed certificates, especially given the ease attackers have at modifying certificates.
