Abstract:
Carriacou and Petite Martinique are small islands in the Carribbean, with the ability to turn develop a green economy. As with many small island developing states (SIDS),they face challenges with their limited resources, limited water, and expensive energy and transportation systems that rely on fossil fuels. By creating social, economic and environmental policies to enhance sustainable development and eradicate poverty, they can make an integrated strategy for a green economy using renewable resources (wind and solar power) and fostering tourism to increase revenue for the islands.
